Last week, we participated in a Fentanyl Awareness Town Hall in Roxbury, a crucial event addressing the urgent challenges posed by the opioid crisis, particularly the rising threat of fentanyl.

Many thanks to everyone who attended Thursday’s working session on Mixed-Income Social Housing. It was an engaging and productive discussion, where we explored how Montgomery County, MD has successfully driven mixed-income and affordable housing development through the innovative use of a revolving fund.

We kicked off the day in East Boston at the cozy Eagle Hill Café, where we had meaningful conversations about youth programming, education, violence prevention, and ways to support our local small businesses. It was an inspiring morning, filled with thoughtful discussions on how we can strengthen our community.

As Hispanic Heritage Month draws to a close, this week we had the privilege of celebrating the remarkable Hispanic leaders and community members who make Boston stronger and more vibrant. Our office had the honor of recognizing Maria Sanchez, former President of the Board of the Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services (MHNHS).

Thank you to everyone who attended, testified, and participated in today’s hearing on Boston’s LGBTQ+ youth community spaces. These spaces are crucial in addressing the mental health challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth due continual and growing exposure to social and political hostility, discrimination and bullying.
