Visit with Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) in Boston’s South End

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting with Vanessa Calderón-Rosado from Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) in Boston’s South End. IBA is a nonprofit and vibrant community development corporation that was founded to address the displacement of low-income families due to urban development in the neighborhood.

During our meeting, we learned about IBA’s impressive array of programs. These include youth development initiatives that offer homework assistance, civic engagement opportunities, and stipends, along with financial literacy programs for parents and students, homebuying workshops and early childhood education programs.

We’re especially excited to follow IBA’s La CASA project—a welcoming and inclusive community space that will feature visiting artists, youth programs, an art gallery, and additional community support services for neighbors.
