Mayor Wu & Boston City Council Announce $7 Million in ARPA Funding to Support First-Time Homebuyers & Local Small Businesses.

Proud to stand alongside my City Council colleagues, Mayor Wu, the Boston Housing Authority (BHA), the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH), and the Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion (OEOI) to announce $7 million in ARPA funding to support first-time homebuyers and local small businesses.

We had the privilege of hearing from Keanna Rice, a participant in the BHA First Home Program, who shared her powerful story: “Buying a home has always been a goal for me and my family—to have a place to call our own and build generational wealth. No matter your financial status, buying a home in today’s market is incredibly difficult, but this program gave me leverage.”

Housing is a human right, and we must continue working to make affordable housing and homeownership accessible for all. I look forward to continuing to advocate for more options for affordable housing and home ownership as well as celebrating more stories of first-time home buyers from Boston’s community.
