Visit to the Blackstone School
Grateful for an Inspiring Visit to Blackstone School!
A huge thank you to the Blackstone School for welcoming us, along with Superintendent Skipper, for a site visit today. The 6th-grade class asked some tough and thought-provoking questions, tackling big topics like where they see BPS in 15 years and what my favorite part of being a City Councilor is!
It was truly inspiring to hear their voices and see their passion for learning and leadership.Meeting with young people is always a highlight for me—it reminds me of the times I had the chance to speak with my own role models, conversations that helped shape my path to where I am today. This visit was especially meaningful as I had the chance to step back into my old classroom at Blackstone, bringing back so many fond memories.
We were also able to take time to discuss needed improvements within the school to ensure every student has the resources and environment to succeed. A huge shoutout to the incredible school leaders for making this visit so special! The handmade sign from the students was the highlight of my week—and now has a place of honor in our office. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!
